The EAJC Held a Press Conference in Moscow.

The press conference devoted to the development of inter-religious dialogue, initiated by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, was held in the News Press Center. Dr. Mikhail Chlenov, the EAJC general secretary, Mr. Roman Spector, head of public relations department, and Adolf Shaevich, chief rabbi of the CJROUR, participated in the press conference. They told the conference that the EAJC had organized three meetings during the last 1.5 years, in which representatives of different religions met and communicated with one another in an attempt to bring to an end inter-religious enmity.
The most recent of the meetings, The Congress of Global Religions, was held in Astana on September 23-24. The conference attracted many Muslim leaders. Two similar forums, in India and in Turkey, are currently being prepared.
Roman Spector, the EAJC press secretary, emphasized that the dialogue as understood by the congress is symbolic of saying "no" three different times: No to ecumenism, no to proselytism, and no to the use of religion as a political tool.
