                  Israel is satisfied with the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Georgia.

                  Israel is sure that the new president of Georgia will strengthen the stability of the country and will uphold the interests of the Georgian people, a statement issued by the Israeli Embassy in Tbilisi reads. Additionally, Israel expresses its satisfaction with the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Georgia. Israel has observed the political situation in Georgia for the last several weeks, and hopes that further processes will develop in a constitutional and democratic way, the statement reads.
                  "Israel gives its grand attention to the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Georgia, and also expresses confidence in fair elections, for the Georgian people have the opportunity to select the authorities," the Israeli Embassy pointed out. "The decision of Eduard Shevardnadze, president of Georgia, to resign resulted in the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Georgia," the document continued.
