Israel and India have agreed to double their joint science research fund to 1 million dollars.
The agreement was reached at a meeting between Israeli Minister for Science and Technology Eliezer Sandberg and his Indian counterpart Bachi Singh Rawat at New Delhi recently.
The increased funding will be directed to research in vital areas of nano-technology and water.
The 10-year-old fund has sponsored 28 research projects in the spheres of technology, agriculture and the human genome.
India is also keen to establish R& D centres modelled on the Israeli example at 10 regional centers in the country's peripheral areas.
