27.02.2004 February 2004 the Evelyn Peters Jewish Community Center (EPJCC) in Mumbai celebrated its 5-th year. The center is reinforcing Jewish communal life among those who reside in the Mumbai/Thane region. Its activities are designed to meet the needs of the entire community and include:
- classes in Hebrew and Jewish subjects
- weekend camps for young and old
- the publication of Kol India, a Jewish community newsletter
- Rosh Chodesh programs
- public seders and other holiday celebrations
- leadership development activities
Leadership training programs have had a tremendous impact on local Jewish community programming. Youth and volunteer groups now function in every Jewish community, organized primarily through the leadership of graduates of the Buncher Community Leadership Program, the linchpin of JDC
