$300,000 for a new lectureship program at the Australian Centre for the Study of Jewish Civilisation at Monash University

                  22.10.2004

More than 450 people, spanning several generations, journeyed down a Yiddish memory lane of comedy, song and prose, as they tucked into smoked salmon, cabbage rolls, latkes, chopped herring, gefilte fish and lekach (honey cake) in a night of Yiddish culture at Leonda by the Yarra last Saturday.
The event, Laughter, literature and lekach, raised almost $300,000 for a new lectureship program at the Australian Centre for the Study of Jewish Civilisation at Monash University.
