                  Officials and activists met in Washington on Sunday to discuss legislative responses to anti-Semitism. Organized by the World Jewish Congress, the forum included lawmakers from the United States, Europe and Israel, as well as diplomats and representatives of numerous non-governmental organizations. Congressman Chris Smith, co-chairman of the US Helsinki Commission, and Gert Weisskirchen, a German parliamentarian who is vice-president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE's representative on combating anti-Semitism, co-chaired the event. Speakers included senator George Voinovich, Israeli lawmaker Colette Avital and French legislator Michel Voisin
