World Jewish Congress to Host UN Reform Forum Featuring Newt Gingrich, John Bolton and Mark Malloch Brown, Top Annan Aide

                  08.09.2005

The World Jewish Congress American Section and WJC President Edgar M. Bronfman will host a special public forum entitled, "Reclaiming the UN Charter" to discuss the reform of the United Nations on Friday, September 9th at 12:30 PM, in the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel Ballroom. The event will include a keynote address by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Co-Chair of the U.S. Task Force on the United Nations, and presentations by Ambassador John Bolton, Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, and Mark Malloch Brown, Chef de Cabinet to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. A Q&A session will follow each presentation.
The event is scheduled days before the UN convenes its 60th General Assembly session. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has made UN reform the centerpiece of the September 2005 summit of world leaders for the upcoming General Assembly, which is widely expected to be the most significant meeting on the future of the organization since it was founded in San Francisco in the wake of World War II. Heads of state and ambassadors are expected from every country in the world.
