World Jewish Congress Governing Board to Meet in February in Jerusalem
05.01.2006 The World Jewish Congress Governing Board and affiliated Jewish leaders from five continents will convene in Jerusalem Feb. 7 through Feb. 9, 2006 to set the agenda of the WJC for the coming year and review developments from the second half of 2005.
The elected leadership of the WJC and representatives from Jewish communities around the world will hear from outstanding speakers and discuss critical issues facing the Jewish world and Israel and set priorities for 2006 and beyond. The Governing Board will also evaluate recent policy activities and review governance, operations and administrative developments that took place in 2005.
Concurrently, World Jewish Congress leadership, led by President Edgar M. Bronfman will conduct high-level bilateral meetings with political, organizational and religious officials. Meetings of the World Jewish Congress Steering Committee, and Budget and Finance Commission will also take place during that week. Regional caucuses will be held to consider local communities' issues and needs.
The World Jewish Congress Governing Board meets twice a year to review programs, operations and administrative developments and to set the agenda for the organization's work into the future.
The last meeting of the WJC Governing Board was in June 2005 in Cordoba, Spain and coincided with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe conference on anti-Semitism.
