                  Czech politician wants Holocaust museum

                  17.02.2006

A regional Czech official wants to establish a Holocaust museum.
Jiri Sulc said he would like to establish a major European Holocaust Museum in Terezin, the former Nazi ghetto and transit camp.
Terezin, also known by its German name of Theresienstadt, is now home to a memorial and research center. Sulc would like to cooperate with the United States, the European Union and the Czech government in order to gain funding for the project, intended to help improve the economic condition of the town as well as pay tribute to Europe
