Sephardi synagogue in Poland gets grant
10.03.2006 The only Sephardi synagogue in Poland received a grant from the European Union.
The synagogue in Zamosc, which is being rebuilt by The Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, is set to open by the end of 2007 at a cost of approximately $835,000.
Once restored, the synagogue, erected in the 17th century in the Renaissance style, will serve as a cultural center and house the Museum of Jews from Zamosc.
