16.01.2007 The department of Jewish Studies at the Moldova Academy of Sciences has started creation of "the Jewish encyclopedia of Moldova".
The fundamental project "Jewish encyclopedia of Moldova" has successfully passed all stages of preliminary expert examination, and has been included in the state plan up to to completion in 2010.
Unprecedented work has to be made to systematize historical, social, cultural facts, ideas and names connected with Jewry of Moldova. It is necessary to capture very broad range of topics, as there have been no analogues of such edition for the three-century history of the Jewish community in the territory of Moldova.
Connections of Diaspora with regional, European and global issues will also be addressed in the edition.
