08.02.2007 The American Jewish Committee (AJC) marked decade of training program for communal leaders and activists from Russian-speaking immigrants (Leadership Program). During the solemn dinner which took place in AJC on this occasion more than hundred leaders and activists gathered. Many of them are graduates of 1 year courses provided by the program. Visitors were welcomed by its head Sam Kliger and a number of prominent representatives of American Jewry.
In the end of solemn assembly the recognized enthusiasts and organizers Leadership Program received awards. The award "For the contribution to intellectual development" has been handed over to Stephen Baim, in charge of AJC department of modern Jewish life, award "For contribution to development of leader movement" was handed to Shula Bakhat, deputy director of AJC, and award David Harris received award "For contribution to a national unification".
