Russia - Antisemitic Events Surrounding an Israeli Film Festival in Moscow.
22.02.2007 On 21st February 2007, a 3x5 meter tall poster announcing an Israeli film festival was hung on the building housing the "Rodina" Cinema in Moscow.
On 27th February, (two days before the opening of the festival) unidentified vandals daubed swastikas on the building's walls. An official letter was sent to the police informing them of the incident. The following day the cinema's workers painted over the graffiti.
On 1st March, at 19:20 hours, during the festival's opening, a group of some 60 people passed by the building shouting: "Russia for the Russians", "Filthy dogs, go to Israel"! Police, who were guarding the area around the cinema, quickly broke up the demonstration.
