After visit to Minsk and Grodno delegation of mountain Jews of the Azerbaijan held a meeting with local community activists in Baku.
The delegation held meeting with Leonid Guljako, Minister of Belarus in charge of religions affairs and nationalities; Tsvi Kaplan, chief rabbi of Belarus, chairman of the Council of the Association of Belarus Jewish Communities of Shalom Malinkin.
During these meetings visitors from Baku told about life of Azerbaijan Jewish community, having put emphasis on traditional for the republic ethnic and religious tolerance, and with obvious attention have familiarized with the information about confessional life of Belarus.
Members of the delegation attended construction works at the city synagogue, carried out under aegis of global movement Chabad and ancient synagogue in Grodno, which is being repaired now and finally were impressed with the visit to the Yama - the historical memorial created at the place of Jewish ghetto during the Second World War in Grodno.
After delegation of mountain Jews of Azerbaijan visited Minsk and Grodno, the decision on activization of cooperation between Jewish communities of Azerbaijan and Belarus was adopted.
