Major expense item for all religious communities is salary.

In 2006 Belgium allocated to religious communities almost 85 million euro. Catholic Church received greatest budget of 79 million euro, 3.5 million euro allocated to Protestant Church and 1,1 million - to Orthodox. The Jewish community received almost 900 thousand, 310 thousand directed to Anglican community and approximately 70 thousand euro - to Muslim community. Major expense item for all religious communities is salary. After the process of official recognition of Muslim clerics the Belgian government expects increase of budgets allocated to Moslems being the second-largest religious community in the country.
