The Indian nanny who saved Rabbi Holdberg's son will become a Righteous Gentile.

                  03.12.2008

According to the Israel Defence Army radio, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is considering granting the Righteous Gentile status to Sandra, the Indian nanny who carried the 2-year-old son of Rabbi Holdberg out of the Beit-CHABAD building occupied by terrorists.
The title "Righteous Gentile" was established by the special decree of Knesset in 1953. It is mostly granted to the citizens of various European states who saved Jews during the Holocaust. The memorial Yad Vashem museum, which issues the Righteous Gentile certificates , can also grant honorary Israeli citizenship to one who received the award.
The Holdbergs' son Moshe was handed over to his grandparents, Shimon and Yudith Rosenberg on November 28 in Mumbai.
