Jewish International Organizations Urge German Authorities to Take Stronger Actions against Hard Right Extremists and Neo-Nazis.

                  17.12.2008

This Saturday, two neo-Nazis inflicted serious injuries on the local chief of police in Passau, southern Germany. The attack was a reaction to the active police countermeasures taken against the activities of local neo-Nazi groups.
The unconcealed defiance of the extremists will force the federal authorities reconsider the current policy of tolerance towards aggressive marginal groups.
Simon Wiesenthal Centre urged the German authorities to take more drastic measures against the followers of the Neo-Nazi ideology, who have become more impudent as of late.
"This brazen gangster attack is yet another alarm bell for German society, a warning of the growing threat. The authorities should take all necessary measures to find the perpetrators and demonstrate absolute intolerance towards any extremist activities", - Efraim Zuroff, head of the European office of the Centre, stressed.
