Exhibition of Jewish Literature to Open in Tumen

The library exhibition "Under the Star of David" will open on December 26th in the academic library of the oblast' museum complex (63 Soviet Str., 3rd floor). The grand opening of the exhibition has been scheduled for 16:00 hours.
The purpose of this exhibition is to reveal the potential of the printed materials from the library archives which are in one way or another tied to the history, culture and religion of the Jewish people.
The museum's press service reports that the four bookstands shall exhibit over 360 separate examples of over 100 titles of printed materials - books, brochures, newspapers, magazines. One of the sections of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of Siberian Jews and will contain works by Tumenian authors.
This collection is based upon a gift of collected printed materials to the museum library by one of its workers - Stanislav Belov, the author of a number of works on local Jewish history.
The Head Librarian Iryna Solodkina has readied a catalogue, which includes a bibliographic description of all printed materials presented at the exhibition. This event will happen during the last days of Chanukah - one of the major Jewish holidays.
