Eldar Ryazanov and Garik Suckachev to Combat Xenophobia

RIA "News" reports that a new informational project is due to start on Russian television just before the New Year. The project, called "WE are Russia", consists of recordings of celebrity speeches against racism and extremism.
According to CEO of "KomInter", the media group which filmed the recordings, Oleg Berdyugin, the famous producer Eldar Ryazanov, who took part in the project, considers “this activity an extremely important one for a society in which xenophobia has been on the rise."
"This needs to start in the family, because when a child is born, he thinks that everybody is good, and if the child has a racist father, he will grow up unwittingly to become a racist, and never once consider that another mode of thought could even be possible," Berdyugin recollects another Ryazanov quote.
Berdyugin also says that another participant - the musician and leader of the "Untouchables" band, Garik Suckachev - shared his memories with him. "I talked to a former skinhead recently. Ten years have passed, and now he is a completely different person. He grew older, met other guys, he managed to escape. Because there are no real motivations for [this] hate!"
