Head of Kharkiv Administration Awards "Righteous Gentiles"

Kharkiv regional state administration held a reception dedicated to granting very special awards - Orders for Merits, granted for the courage and sacrifices shown during the Great Patriotic War while saving Jews from Nazi genocide. In addition to the rescuers themselves, the event was attended by those survivors from Kharkiv who were saved.
Addressing the audience, the Chairman of Regional State Administration Arsen Avakov underlined that 29 residents of Kharkiv receive this eminent award as a symbol of gratitude and recognition of the lofty mission of the Righteous Gentile.
"Unfortunately, many did not live to see the solemn moment in which their heroic deed has been appreciated. Not everyone was able to join us today. But I assure you that all those honored will receive their awards," promised the Head of regional state administration.
