Kazakhstan Authorities Support Chanukah Celebrations

"For more than a decade, with the support of the government and local authorities, the representatives of Jewish centers have been lighting Chanukah candles in the central areas of Kazakh cities," reported Kazinform, the state news agency of the Republic. The lighting 1of the eighth Chanukah candle in the memory of those killed in Mumbai, Rabbi Gabriel and his wife Rivka Goltsberg, was held on Sunday, December 28, in Almaty. The ceremony was led by the Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan Yeshaya Cohen.
