Unidentified Vandal Makes Pogrom in Bendery Synagogue

In the Transdnistrian town of Bendery at night on March 1, an unidentified1 vandal desecrated the synagogue of the local Jewish community.
As reports the New Region with reference to the New Newspaper , attackers broke into the room, made a mess of it, and desecrated the place of prayer. A little earlier, the number "14" was drawn with silver paint on the gates of a Jewish cemetery, which is associated with the number of lines devoted to the destruction of the Jews among the admirers of Hitler's book "Mein Kampf."
The head of the 'Bendery Jewish synagogue and community' NGO Mikhail Tulchinsky told that "Vandals burned posters, desecrated the Torah, stole praying accessories worn next to the skin, also prayer books and utensils - shofars, silver holders, spoons, as well as products that have been prepared for the holiday."
Now, people cannot pray or hold religious activities in the desecrated synagogue until the Rabbinate representatives from Russia, Israel, and Moldova arrive. They are to spiritually cleanse the synagogue. "This was done in order to evict us from here," Tulchinsky thinks.
As reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Transdnistrian Moldova Republic, criminal proceedings were instituted under Article 211, Part 2 - hooliganism committed with exceptional cynicism. The file is under special control of Bendery internal affairs department, and the Ministry for State Security.
The investigation has not yet managed to identify3 how the vandals entered the building, because the locks on the doors and windows of the buildings have not been damaged. Most probably, one of the windows in the utility room was not closed.
Previously, an annex building was constructed by the Terry-Pa local company between the synagogue and the adjacent sports school with the permission of the local administration. This building blocked the windows and emergency exit from the synagogue. As a result, regulatory authorities have banned Jews from holding mass gatherings in the synagogue. Now this situation is being dealt with in local court.
