A memorial plaque by sculptor Pesach Flint was mounted on the house where Sholom lived, depicting besides the writer, a lot of heroes of his works.
The Lvov Society of Jewish Culture, the first created in Ukraine, bears his name. One of the central streets, where until the beginning of World War II the Jewish community building and the central house of Jewish craftsmen (Yad Haruzim) were situated, is named after Sholom Aleichem.
In connection with the anniversary of the great Jewish writer, an assembly was organized in Bnei Brith Leopolis," where the speakers talked about his life and work, the staging of his works, including those in Lvov theatres. People also read his works aloud1.
On the wall there was a portrait of the writer, made by the famous artist Semyon Gruzberg, the original of which is located in an American museum.
Сlassical and folk Jewish melodies were performed by an ensemble of violinists.
It's a pity, however, that his works were not read in his native language - Yiddish.
