Diploma to the Chairman of the Estonian Jewish Community
06.03.2009
Chairman of the Jewish religious community of Estonia Boris Oks was awarded a diploma by Tallinn Mayor's office for his exemplary work on restoration of the facade of Tallinn Jewish School building, performed in summer 2008.
The historic building of the school, built in 1924 on the donations of the community members, is a single architectural ensemble with the building of the Jewish social center and the Tallinn New Synagogue, located on the Karu Street 16.
The historic building had not been repaired for many years and was in a very sad condition. The Chairman of the Jewish religious community in Estonia managed to find money to repair the school.
Repairs transformed the old facade, now the school building adorns the complex of the Jewish center in Tallinn.
