Combating xenophobia and racism is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian Security Service
Protection of state and territorial integrity of Ukraine and combating xenophobia are among the main tasks faced by the Security Service of Ukraine, said the Head of the special service Valentin Nalivaichenko.
At the briefing on Thursday, Nalivaichenko announced the assignments set by the President for the secret service, which are a priority for the USS.
The first and most important task, according to the Head of the Service, is the protection of the statehood and territorial integrity of Ukraine. "It is essential that those criminal matters against which we have already brought charges, are brought to a legal determination by Ukrainian courts," noted Nalivaichenko, the Interfax-Ukraine reports.
He also stressed the importance of closing those separatist organizations by the decision of the Ministry of Justice or the courts, as well as bringing to justice the people who encroach on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The second important task that stands before the Security Service, according to Nalivaichenko, is combating xenophobia and racism. In this context, Nalivaichenko noted that the round table discussion on this issue will be opened, and cooperation has been already established with the Head of the Supreme Court Vasyl Onopenko. "We will not tolerate xenophobia," Nalivaichenko assured.
