Israel Week at Moscow State Institute of International Relations
17.03.2009
From March 17 to 19 at MSIIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a week of Israeli culture is to take place, organized with the support of Israeli Cultural Center in Moscow at the Embassy of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation.
The Union of Israeli Students of the MSIIR will introduce their friends in the university to the specifics of the culture of Israel.
During these days, the educational space of the MSIIR will change: the University will be decorated with a photo exhibition by the young Israeli photographer Anna Kaplan. The students will see Israel as reflected in her talented works: the nature and work routine, people's faces and bright colors of Israeli holidays.
The week will be opened with a meeting with Elena Khanga, who will introduce the movie about the journey of Israel called "Under the Blue Sky."
Elena Khanga delightfully says that she tried and saw a number of things for the first time in her life during the filming process. On March 17, at 16.00 she will share her experiences from traveling around Israel with the audience of the MSIIR University. They will be able to ask her any questions and to see Israel through the eyes of the well-known TV host.
On March 18, during the week of Israeli culture, the students will be shown the "Ushpizin" movie by an Israeli director Gidi Dar.
March 19 will be the final day of the week of Israeli culture. On this day at 17.00 in the main hall, a concert of Jewish communities will be held: the violin, Israeli national instruments, modern popular songs and jazz compositions.
