Vukcevic: Serbia To Seek Extradition of Peter Egner from US

Serbia's war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic told the Jewish community of Belgrade that Serbia will seek the extradition of Peter Egner, who is accused of committing war crimes and genocide of civilians, mainly of Belgrade Jews during World War II.
In late August 2008, Serbian Prosecutor's office in war crimes filed a lawsuit against Peter Egner, former guard of Staro Saimishte concentration camp in Belgrade, who participated in the liquidation of a large group of civilians, mainly Jews, from the end of 1941 to mid 1942 in Yaintsy near Belgrade. After the war, Egner emigrated to the US, where he worked as a waiter in Seattle.
