Monument to Murdered Jews to be Erected in Nikolaev Region

A new memorial to the victims of Fascism will be opened in Nikolaev region on the eve of Victory Day. This was decided by the city authorities of Novaya Odessa. The memorial is being erected at the initiative and with the support of
the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine on the spot of death of over 300 Jews of the city, the press service of the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine reports.
The hard work on collecting materials for the perpetuation of the victims of fascism in the city and the area has been carried out for several months. This is the memorial this year, built by the Foundation within the all-Ukrainian
memorial project "Memory and Gratitude" under the financial support of the Foundation's President Oleg Grosman.
The memorial is a granite stele set up in the traditions of Jewish gravestones with the text inscribed in Hebrew and Russian languages which reads "In sacred memory of the Jews of Novaya Odessa, shot by the Nazi invaders in August 1941.
To their eternal memory and our sorrow!"
