20.04.2009
Representatives of the Jewish delegation from Belarus have established cooperation with representatives of various European countries studying the Holocaust during their stay at the opening of "Last greetings from Minsk" exhibition.
"Last greetings from Minsk" exhibition, held in Viadrina European University, Frankfurt (Oder), tells the story of the Minsk ghetto and the Trostenets concentration camp.
About 100 people from 16 European countries attended the opening ceremony.
According to Kuzma Kozak, director of Minsk historical workshop, the contacts with colleagues from different European countries interested in the Holocaust have been established during the stay of Minsk delegation in Germany.
The first result of the co-operation was an invitation of Berlin creative group Hurst & Winterberg that created the audiovisual performance on the facts of the Minsk ghetto for it to demonstrate its work to the audience in Belarus.
The following step in the co-operation establishment framework was attendance of the Jewish Museum in Berlin, to which Kuzma Kozak presented books about Auschwitz while Mikhail Treyster presented his book "Flashes of Memory" as well as visiting of Karl Horst Museum, which was also presented with books about Auschwitz. Lessons with the witnesses of the Holocaust, at which all comers were taught to communicate with and interview the witnesses, became of not less significance for experience exchange.
