President of Azerbaijan Shares Jewish Sorrow
22.04.2009
On the day of Holocaust remembrance, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev addressed the Jews of the country with a mournful letter.
In his address, Ilham Aliev stressed that the Second World War has become the greatest disaster in the history of mankind, in the history of many nations of the world, especially of the Jewish people.
"During this bloody war, millions of Jews were subjected to a deliberate policy of genocide carried out by the fascists," said the president of Azerbaijan.
However, in April 1943, the prisoners of the Warsaw Ghetto revolted against the bloody crimes of fascism, against the national and religious discrimination.
"In this unequal battle, they died heroically, but showed an example of the valiant struggle for national rights and human dignity. The uprising of Warsaw Ghetto prisoners, which became a symbol of moral victory in the fight against
fascism, was included in the history not only as tragedy of the Jews, but also as a model of heroism." Stressed President Aliev in his address.
President Ilham Aliyev completed his address to the Jews of Azerbaijan, made on the day of great sorrow for the 6 million of sons and daughters of Israel who died in the fight against Nazism, with the following words: "I share your grief, Allah bring peace to the soul of all the innocent victims of the reaction."
