A Garland of Various Dialects: Second International Festival of Languages

In the Tolerance club of the KEDEM Jewish cultural center, the Second International Festival of Languages has been successfully held.
For the second time in its entire three-year history, KEDEM has held the International Festival of Languages, and this time - even more massive and interesting than the first one.
Besides foreign languages teachers - from the popular English to Hebrew, Swahili, and even Hindi - it was also attended by volunteers, students of metropolitan schools and lyceums - over 150 people in total.
The "lessons" at the festival in the rooms of the Jewish Home did not resemble school: the languages of different nations were represented here not only by teachers, but also in the most entertaining form - by students, volunteers of non-governmental organizations, high school students, as well foreigners living and working in Moldova, and what was absolutely unexpected - even refugees
from African countries.
And the festival participants were not passive listeners: they managed to learn popular phrases - greetings, apologies, questions of "how are you?" and so on
almost in all the languages of Europe. In most audiences, the guests were invited to think of dialogues on the basis of the newly learned phrases, and many people succeeded. The Japanese audience seemed to hold the palm of popularity among students.
The participants not only learned to write characters, many people asked questions of the host and the co-host - girls Naoko and Katya - about the peculiarities of customs, cuisine and traditions of distant mysterious Japan.
To conclude, the excitement, fun, friendly atmosphere, bringing different nations together, was achieved. It was reinforced with a common table, which offered snacks and juices.
And what is non the less important: on this day, many participants of the festival for the first time passed the threshold of the KEDEM Jewish cultural center and realized that it is always open to guests and full of busy life. And
thus - this is a common house for all the friends of the KEDEM!
