Memorial to Joseph Brodsky to be Erected in Moscow

This year, a monument to the poet Joseph Brodsky is to be erected on the Novinsky boulevard in Moscow, RIA Novosty reports according to a source in the city administration.
The worker in the city administration said, "To perpetuate the memory of the poet Joseph Brodsky, it has been decided to install a memorial to the poet in 2009. The memorial is a statue on a granite podium, given to the city by its author, Honoured Art Worker of Russia Georgiy Frangulan."
According to this worker, the memorial is to be erected on the Novinsky boulevard between houses 22 and 28. "The Department of Housing and Communal Services of the city will take upon itself the task of beautifying the space near the memorial," said the source.
