Why does MK Eldad find a German pop song so offensive?

Rightist lawmaker Aryeh Eldad demanded on Wednesday that Army Radio cease playing German pop group Polarkreis 18's song "Allein Allein" because of associations between the German language and the Holocaust.
"In the state of Israel there still live many Jews whom Germany tossed to entirely other places," Eldad (National Union) told Army Radio.
"There has never been an instruction or agreement not to broadcast songs in German on the radio, but everyone has his own limit."
While most of the lyrics are in English, the chorus is in German. It reads: "Wir sind allein / allein allein" (we are alone, alone alone).
Eldad added that the meaning of the song, a hit in Germany, actually portrayed the situation in Israel very well. "Possibly a Hebrew version would be nicer on the ear," he said.
Following Eldad's remarks, one of the station's music editors, Dubi Lantz, said there was nothing inappropriate in the song. "Everyone has a button on their radio - they can turn it off," he added.
