"Cursor" Poll Shows: Immigrants Willing to Sacrifice Salary to Save the Economy

Only 16% of immigrants from the former Soviet Union fully support the economic policies of Netanyahu. However, 33% put their faith in him for leading the country out of the crisis.
These are the main results of the online voting held by the "Cursor" in the period from 10 to 17 May. A total of 2012 respondents participated in the survey, and 1996 of them answered to all questions.
The budget cuts suggested by the Government of Netanyahu, are considered worthwhile by about a third of respondents, while 48% share the opposite opinion.
Most of the repatriates do not approve of the cuts in education (30%), defense (23%) and social benefits (23%). But only 4% have expressed concern over the budget of the Ministry of Absorption.
78% of the survey participants recommend to reduce the budget at the expense of the public sector. 53% consider that the need for budget cuts is caused by the inflated staff of the ministries and departments, and only 22% attribute it to the economic crisis.
The idea that the reduction in public spending will contribute to the crisis is supported only by 9%, while 44% believe that such steps will lead to a decrease of living standards.
72% of the voters believe that the Histadrut (trade unions) should not react to the cuts with a strike, as this will only aggravate the situation.
But most remarkable is that one-third of the repatriates agreed to voluntarily donate a portion of the salaries in the name of saving the domestic economy.
