The long-prepared bill on the payment of compensation to Jews for real estate which used to belong to them, will be discussed in the next several weeks by the Government of Lithuania.
According to the Chancellor of the Government Deividas Matulenis, the bill is currently being reviewed by lawyers, reports the Lithuanian portal DELFI with reference to the BNS agency.
"It can be included in the agenda of the Government in 2 or 3 weeks," said the Chancellor.
The Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius promised that the draft will be submitted to the Seim before the end of the spring session. Under the Constitution, the parliament's spring session ends in Lithuania on June 30.
