Names of Lithuanians Charged with Murdering Jews Published

At the site of the Association of Lithuanian Jews in Israel, the list of names of hundreds of Lithuanians who participated in the massacres and killings of tens of thousands of Jews during the Second World War, has been posted. The list is accompanied by a wish: "May God punish these cowards. Let their allies, associates and relatives, their descendants be damned forever".
According to the Association Chairman, Lithuanian expatriate A. Melamed, one of the main objectives of this project is "to take every effort to prevent the distortion of history of the Holocaust, especially when it comes to the participation of Lithuanians in the murders". Melamed suggests not only combating the wave of anti-Semitism in Lithuania and to seeking the holy war against the war criminals, but also returning the "stolen property" to people from Lithuania who live in Israel, or their descendants.
Most of the names posted on the site are Lithuanian, although some of them sound like Russian, German and Jewish. The lists contain also the names of several women. Next to the surnames are the names of settlements, in which the shootings took place, and dates of birth of the people involved in their implementation.
In addition, military ranks, professions or occupations of the executors are indicated. The total number of names on the list is at least 3000.
