Egyptian merchants hail Obama, 'the new King Tut'

Egyptian merchants have pulled out all the stops to prepare their stores for the arrival of United States President Barack Obama to Cairo on Thursday.
For some merchants, the visit represents the arrival of a foreign leader of historic greatness, or at the least, an opportunity to sell untold levels of marked-up souvenirs.
Obama is very popular in Egypt, and being the youngest-ever U.S. president and of African descent, some Egyptians can't help but see a clear resemblance to King Tuthankhumen.
During his visit, Obama will meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and will address a group of students at Cairo University.
According to the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi, Egyptian authorities are being selective in determining which students will be allowed in the audience during the president's speech at Cairo University.
The newspaper reported that students are being vetted according to their political affiliation. Obama's speech in Cairo is expected to be Washington's olive branch to the Muslim world after eight contentious years of the Bush presidency.
