Charges dropped against settler who shot Palestinians
10.06.2009
State prosecutors have dropped charges against an Israeli accused of shooting at a Palestinian family during the evacuation of a disputed building in Hebron.
Ze'ev Braude of Kiryat Arba injured two Palestinians during the evacuation of the Peace House, also known as the House of Contention, in December, 2008. The incident, in which he shot the men at close range, was captured on videotape by a volunteer for the B'tselem human rights organization.
The Jerusalem District prosecutors dropped the indictment after the state said it would not disclose some evidence which is identified as classified information.
Braude has been under house arrest since the incident.
