                  Israeli High-Tech Rushes to Ukraine

Ukrainian high-tech specialists are becoming more and more popular among Israeli firms. Some of the leading companies have already opened their research centers in Ukraine.
The high educational level of the personnel, longstanding science traditions and great potential of the Ukrainian market of communications and technologies are the criteria due to which big Israeli companies increasingly engage Ukrainian specialists into the work at ambitious projects, Glavred web site informs with reference to Deutsche Welle. And, in particular, it has been already done by such companies as Amdocs and Telrad. Now, VocalTec, one of the world's leaders in the field of communication equipment and communications, has announced its entrance to the Ukrainian market and founded a center of innovations and developments in Lvov. Lvov center, currently employing 17 local programmers, will concentrate on the development of technologies of media data transfer on-line. On receiving the certificate of the Ukrainian Scientific and Research Institute of Radio and Television, the company intends to develop the Ukrainian direction of its work, Glavred reports. It is worth mentioning that before the high-tech crisis in March of 2000, Israeli firms employed Ukrainian specialists with pleasure and trained them at their own expense. So, Telran company held a nine-month training priced at 40,000 shekels for Ukrainian employees who later worked for Israelis. In connection with the global economic crisis, many Israeli companies have closed their branch offices in the USA and transferred them to the countries with lower living standards, such as India and Ukraine, lately. Besides, ample funds are being invested into the high-tech field in Georgia and other countries.
