The Chief rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar suggested the representatives of all denominations to gather in Petersburg.

The Governor Vladimir Yakovlev has met the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar in Smolny in Saint Petersburg. At the meeting they discussed participation of the Jewish community in preparation for celebrating the 300-anniversary of Saint Petersburg. Bert Lazar has noted he was amazed with the range of works held in the city. The Chief Rabbi of Russia has especially emphasized the absence of tension in international relationships in Petersburg. Governor Yakovlev has supported the idea of the Jewish community to carry out the international conference "300 years together" in Petersburg at participation of representatives of different denominations.
