29.10.2002 At the meeting of the Governor of Leningrad region Valery Serdyukov and the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar the possibility of creating the Jewish community center in Vyborg was discussed.
The Chief Rabbi of Russia said to journalists there was also discussed the possibility of building the camp in Leningrad region to provide rest for Jewish children. According to Berl Lazar the situation concerning the Jewish community in Russia improves, and in northwest of Russia it can be an example for other regions.
