The Chief Rabbi of Russia Adolf Shaevich has categorically opposed the legislative sanction of early marriages.
31.10.2002 Leaders and representatives of traditional religious organizations of Russia have different opinions in respect of the bill allowing, at special circumstances, to get married at 14 years. While the Supreme mufti of European countries and the CIS easily accepted this law, and the representative of Orthodox church has accepted it with stipulation, the Chief Rabbi of the country Adolf Shaevich has categorically opposed the legislative sanction of early marriages.
