New Jewish Community center opens in Siberia
12.09.2013, Community Life Thousands of members from the Jewish communities of Siberia, Russia attended last week the inauguration of a new and remarkably beautiful JCC and Synagogue at the Siberian city of Novosibirsk.
The new structure became reality thanks to the assistance of the FJC of Russia, the Keshet foundation, Mr. Glaizenberg, Mr. Alexander Shpikelman and Mr. Leonid Shaman.
The event that was attended by the chief rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar, and a large delegation of rabbis and dignitaries from the neighboring cities. It opened with the affixing of a new Mezuzah at the door of the new campus and the festive introduction of a new Torah Scroll to the Synagogue – the first in over 100 years!
The event continued to a celebrative concert and prestigious meal that concluded the joyous gathering.
