                  75 from 109 deputies of "Chamber of Representatives" have required Alexander Lukashenko to stop destruction of Jewish

                  75 from 109 deputies of "Chamber of Representatives" have applied to Alexander Lukashenko with the requirement to stop destruction of Jewish cultural and religious values in Minsk. The request was initiated by the Chairman of the World Association of Byelorussian Jews, Jacob Gutman. The "Chamber" administration has refused to sign the petition. "Our country is not Jewish but Slavic", considers the "deputy" Sergey Kostjan.
                  "Radye Ratsiya" informs the petition of 75 "deputies", directed to presidential, contains demands to "make urgent stop" of construction works at the place of the former synagogue destroyed by authorities at Dimitrova street 3 in Minsk and also to stop construction of a parking place in the old Top City where the basement of the Cold Synagogue constructed in 1570 was preserved.
                  "Deputies" initiate creation of a special commission with participation of representatives of Jewish religious organizations, which would investigate actions of high-ranking officials "at barbarous destruction of the center of Minsk". In opinion of those who signed the petition, it is necessary "to charge the commission to monitor actions of high-ranking officials of the government, the Ministry of Culture and City Executive Committee, having included to its structure deputies of the Chamber, representatives of the president administration, Fund of Culture, the Society of Monuments Protections and also members of Jewish organizations". The commission should provide results of the check to the State Office of Public Prosecutor with the requirement to bring perpetrators to responsibility.
                  "It is important to stop vandalism for it never have place in the future. Officials knew such actions will not be left unpunished", the member of the Commission on Human Rights, Nadezhda Tsyrkun, considers.
                  10 from 14 "Chamber" commissions signed the petition. However it is known, that "Chamber" administration has eliminated to refer to Lukashenko. There are no signatures of ether the "Chamber" speaker or the vice-speakers at the document.
                  "We are the Slavic state but not Jewish. Those deputies who have signed this petition are boneheads", the Vice-President of the "Chamber" Commission on International Affairs, Sergey Kostjan, has admitted.
                  At the end of the last year the building of a former synagogue along Dimitrova street 3 in Minsk has been destroyed on sanction of City Executive Committee and the Ministry of Culture. The two-storied building of the synagogue was included in the list of historical and cultural values of Byelorussia. It was constructed by Jews in late ղ
