02.12.2002 Hello Friends! It has been a long time ago that I visited Kazakhstan, but this is the very country I was born in. Now, I live in Australia, in Melbourne, a rather big city. I miss Kazakhstan! And to be a bit closer to my native Karaganda community, I am writing this article for www.mitsva.kz. Let this article of mine be a present to all the Jews of Kazakhstan.
So, I will try to describe you the way one of the most joyous holidays of the Jewish calendar is celebrated by the Jewish community of Australia. .
I have filmed the celebration of Hanukkah for local television on many occasions; and every time, catching the Hanukkah candle light with its glass eye, my camera would turn into a living creature. The large number of participants picks out Hanukkah from other Jewish holidays.
