		 Owner of New York Jewish bookstore attacked by man claiming to be a Muslim02.12.2015, Anti-Semitism The owner of a Jewish bookstore in New York’s Manhattan Upper West Side was attacked by a man who claimed to be a Muslim and went on a rant about Jews outside the store. 
 The suspect struck the 52-year-old Salmon Salczer in the face. He has not been caught.
 
 The incident began when the manager of the West Side Judaica and Bookstore observed a man screaming and pacing outside the business.
 
 When he stepped outside to see what the commotion was about, the man repeatedly shouted, "F… you Jew. I'll kill you. I'm a Muslim."
 
 The suspect, believed to be about 20, then punched the owner in the face. He took off on a scooter.
 
 New York Council Member Mark Levine declared : “This terrible incident is a stark reminder that no neighborhood in New York City is immune from the mounting threat of anti-Semitic attacks.”
 
 The attack has shocked the mainly Jewish neighborhood, where Salczer and his family have been for more than 30 years.
