For the purposes of safety Israel has cancelled flights to Thailand.
19.12.2002 Flights to Bangkok by "Arkia" airlines are cancelled as passengers are afraid of acts of terrorism and the Israeli authorities are not sure that citizens of Israel will be safe onboard Thai planes. In October the company has opened flights to such tourist places as Chiang Mau and Fuket, but now they are also cancelled because of failures in system of safety. Thailand keeps attracting tourists more than Indonesia or Malaysia where many Moslems live. Usually over 100 thousand Israelis visit Thailand a year.
