Amazon, the online retailer, have removed three Holocaust-denial books from the offer after protest from Jewish groups claiming that the website was giving a platform to blatant anti-Semitic works penned by some of the most notorious bigots antisemites.

The three titles removed are ‘’Holocaust: The Greatest Lie Ever Told, by Eleanor Wittakers; The Hoax of the Twentieth Century: The Case Against the Presumed Extermination of European Jewry, by Arthur R Butz; and Did Six Million Really Die? by Richard Harwood – are blatantly anti-Semitic works penned by some of the most notorious bigots.

Amazon has been criticised for years over selling revisionist titles n its website, but the recent spate of anti-Semitic incidents cross America led Robert Rozett, a senior official at Yad Vashem, to write to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos calling him to take immediate action.

In a letter to Bezos, World Jewish Congress CEO Robert Singer thanked the Amazon CEO for removing the books. On multiple occasions, the WJC had flagged the books as being in violation of Amazon’s guidelines prohibiting the sale of material that “promote or glorify hatred.”

Singer also offered the WJC’s assistance in helping to identify and flag other offensive material in similar violation of Amazon’s standards.
