FJC Communities Aim to Leave ‘No Jew Behind’ on High Holiday Celebrations

Hundreds of thousands of people in more than 380 Jewish communities across 10 FSU countries, took part in Rosh Hashanah celebrations, services, and meals last week. Many more will join them in other fall holiday celebrations over the coming weeks, including the holidays of Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simhat Torah.

Also, ahead of the holidays, thousands of food packages were distributed to the elderly and those in need. The packages included most essential staples as well as traditional holiday treats, such as honey, cake, and grape juice.

“The High Holidays are the epitome of the Jewish year, and of the Jewish life-cycle overall, the core of our heritage and tradition. We feel the responsibility – and the privilege – of our important mission to spread the holiday spirit to every corner of the FSU region with Jewish population. Entire Jewish communities – rabbis, youth activists, educators, donors, and volunteers – are working hard to make sure no Jew gets left behind,” said Daniel Gordon, FJC outreach coordinator.
