Synagogue in Kazan is in danger due to construction of the first underground line.
27.12.2002 Leaders of the Jewish community in Kazan try to rescue from destruction the unique synagogue of the city.
The synagogue is one of the ancient buildings located in the historical part of the city which existence is in danger because of constructing the first line of the Kazan underground. Local Jewish patrons of art, as well as American distributive committee "Joint", are ready to pay for architectural and geological works for the sake of rescuing the largest synagogue in Russia constructed in 1915.
